We're planning to implement a Fare Class Realignment in World Traveller (economy) class on our mainline and franchise partner flights, effective on tickets you sell fromNovember 19, 2007for travel from December 11, 2007.“R” class fares from North America to the United Kingdom will be replaced by "L" class fares.
Below you will find a brief explanation of what you need to do for existing bookings impacted by this change.
North America to the UK - "R"class fares:
Travel before 11 DEC 2007 Required Action:No action required. These bookings are NOT affected.
Travel on or after 11 DEC 2007 British Airways Action: BA will change the bookings from R to L class. Required Travel Agency Action:Revalidation or re-issue, as appropriate, is required by the agent to enable re-association of the booking with the ticket and to avoid any disruption for your customers when they check in. If validated on BA prefix "125", revalidation by the travel agent is required. For bookings ticketed on another carrier, the travel agent can revalidate (assuming their GDS has a revalidation agreement with the particular airline), otherwise the ticket must be re-issued.
Please note: 1. R-class fares will have a sales restriction to read "tickets must be issued on/before 18Nov07." 2. L-class will have a sales restriction to read "tickets must be issued on/after 19Nov07."
Thank you in advance for your support of this change.
